Acupuncture
Chinese folk medicine is primarily associated with acupuncture. Acupuncture is the treatment of bioactive points with very fine needles. There are more than 300 such points, and each of them is connected with some organ or system.
The needles are so tiny and are inserted so shallowly that there are no unpleasant sensations during acupuncture. On the contrary, acupuncture helps to manage pain. It is also indicated for many internal organ diseases, metabolic disorders, low immunity, insomnia and some nervous disorders.
Vacuum therapy
Today vacuum massage is actively used in Western medicine and cosmetology, but its basics came to us from ancient China. The massage uses jars of different diameters. The doctor performs an active massage, moving the jars around the body and acting on bioactive points.
From the point of view of Oriental medicine, this massage improves the movement of energy flows, vacuum therapy strengthens capillaries, improves microcirculation, helping the body to get rid of decay products, improves cellular respiration, accelerates the recovery of damaged tissues. Vacuum therapy strengthens the body's defenses and is often used to prevent infectious diseases.
Thermopuncture or moxibustion
It is a very useful and pleasant procedure with a small source of thermal action. Acupuncture and moxibustion can help with any health problems. The procedure is recommended for weakened patients with neuropsychiatric exhaustion, as rehabilitation after stroke, people 70 years and older.
Qigong therapeutic exercises
Anyone who has traveled to China has seen city dwellers going to parks in the morning and evening and practicing qigong exercises. Qigong has much in common with yoga - it also involves slow, flowing movements and breath control.
Qigong helps harmonize body and mind and allows Qi energy to flow freely. If we look at Chinese gymnastics from a Western point of view, it significantly improves oxygen supply to the brain and all systems and organs of the human body, increases concentration and efficiency, relieves muscle tension and normalizes blood pressure.
Nutrition
While Western medicine mainly takes into account the ratio of fats, carbohydrates and proteins, as well as vitamins and minerals, Eastern medicine takes a different approach. The main thing in nutrition is the balance of flavors - salty, sweet, bitter, sour and spicy. When formulating a diet, Chinese doctors take into account not only the patient's state of health, but also his or her gender, age and lifestyle.
